On Divine Protection and the Still Small Voice

Most mornings, we wake up, say a quick prayer, and walk straight into a day we have already planned out in our own minds. We have our schedule. We have our route. We have our agenda. And somewhere in the rush, we forget to pause and acknowledge the God who kept us through the night.

But today, I want to challenge you to stop and give thanks — not just for the blessings you can see, but for the dangers you never knew were there.

Protected from What You Never Saw

We have no idea how close we have come to death on any given day. We do not know what wickedness was waiting at the corner we chose not to turn down. We do not know what was on that flight we felt uneasy about boarding, or what would have happened if we had taken our normal route that morning.

But God knew. And that still small voice — what many of us call our first mind — was Him. Quietly redirecting us. Gently urging us to go right instead of left. To stay home instead of going out. To wait instead of moving.

“And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.”

— 1 Kings 19:12 (KJV)

That still small voice is the Spirit of God at work in your life — leading you, guiding you, and protecting you from harm you may never fully understand this side of eternity.

What He May Never Reveal

God may never show you how much poison your body processed that should have taken you out — but the Blood of Jesus covered you. He may never reveal how many curses sent by witches and warlocks failed to prosper against your life. He may never show you how close you came to being abducted, assaulted, or in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He blocked bullets you never saw coming.

He rerouted danger before it ever reached your door.

And He did it quietly, without fanfare, because that is what a Father does.

Pay Attention

Throughout the years, I have heard person after person testify that they missed death by simply following their first thought. That uneasy feeling. That hesitation. That unexplained urge to change the plan.

And then there are the ones who felt it — and overrode it. Who talked themselves out of the warning? Who reasoned away the check in their spirit. And some of them are no longer here.

I am not saying this to bring fear. I am saying it to bring awareness. The Holy Spirit is not random. He is not your imagination. He is God — active, present, and communicating with you daily. But we have to be attentive enough to hear Him and obedient enough to follow.

In this hour especially, the spirit of premature death is not passive. It is strategic. And the only defense against a strategic enemy is a Spirit-led life.

The Power Source

If you are not connected to Jesus Christ, you are navigating this world without your greatest protection. Not because God does not love you — He does, deeply — but because a relationship with Him is how you access everything He has for you, including His covering.

If you have never given your life to Him, today is the day. Not tomorrow. Not when things get better. Today.

A Prayer of Salvation and Surrender

If you are ready, pray this with me:

Father God, thank You for loving me so deeply that You sent Your Son Jesus Christ to pay the price for every sin I would ever commit.

Thank You, Jesus, for dying so that I could have a life of abundance.

Jesus, I ask that You come into my heart — save me, heal me, deliver me, and fill me with Your Spirit — so that I can live the rest of my life for You.

Thank You, Lord, for accepting me into the Kingdom of God.

Amen.
