Pure Heart, Clear Eyes: Passing the Test God Sends

When God begins to deal with you about purifying your heart, understand this: the test is coming. It is not a matter of if — it is a matter of when. And the moment a situation or circumstance arises against you, your first response is what you are graded by.

He will give you a check in your spirit to pray through that very area. But as you grow, and as you purpose in your heart to study and prepare, you begin to shift from someone who fails the test to someone who sees it coming and stands firm anyway. Stay ready. Stay focused. It is on the way.

The Real Enemy

We have to settle this in our hearts: the person who offended you, betrayed you, or spread lies about you is not your enemy. The Word makes it plain:

“Our fight is not against human beings. It is against the rulers, the authorities, and the powers of this dark world. It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world.”

— Ephesians 6:12 (NIRV)

Persecution will always come against the people of God. But what we must do is let lies be lies — and train ourselves to look past the person and identify the spirit behind it. God expects that of us.

It is one of the hardest things to do. But Jesus made it possible through the Holy Spirit. We have been given authority over every plan of the enemy — including the ones that come through people we know.

Be Like Christ

God loves all of His people — the saved and the unsaved alike. And if we claim to be Christians, then we must be like Christ. That's forgiving. That means loving. That means interceding even for those who have wronged us.

If you desire to be an effective witness, sent by God, you must not only be available but also usable. And usability requires a pure heart — not just once, but continually. Even when every part of you wants to defend yourself. Even then. That is why we have a Father to vindicate us.

So if you are being offended by the offender, give it to God. Let Him handle it. Your job is to grow — to become meet for the Master’s use.

A Word from the Writer

I can say without hesitation: I am better now than I was just a few years ago. My heart grieves for those who are wounded and hurting — because often, wounded people carry an agenda to pass that pain on to whoever is next in line.

But Jesus came that we all might have LIFE, and life in abundance. They deserve that life too. They just don’t know how to tap into the Source — JESUS CHRIST.

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”

— Matthew 5:8 (KJV)

And this promise is not only about eternity. A pure heart allows you to see God right now — to see what He is doing, and to recognize who He is doing it through. It is about knowing who He is, and knowing who you are in Him.

Disciple, keep your heart. The test is coming — but so is the grace to pass it.
